At Wangli Safety & Door Technology Co., Ltd.'s Changtian manufacturing base, 45 intelligent production lines operate in an orderly manner, with robotic arms and automated guided vehicles working busily. From raw material cutting to final assembly, the workshop achieves full-process digital control. In 2021, Wangli Safety & Door was selected as a provincial-level "Future Factory," being the first and only company in its industry to receive this recognition.
With the support of intelligent manufacturing, the digital production line can efficiently switch between hundreds of product styles, increasing production capacity by over 300% compared to traditional manual lines while significantly improving product precision. Previously, manufacturing a standard door took at least seven days; now, both standard and non-standard doors have a delivery time of just one day.
The leap in efficiency and quality for these enterprises reflects the achievements of Yongkang's digital transformation and upgrading in the hardware industry. In recent years, Yongkang has vigorously promoted digital transformation in manufacturing, continuously deepening its development strategy of becoming the "World Hardware Capital," advancing high-quality projects that integrate technological innovation with industrial innovation. It has accelerated the cultivation of a new intelligent manufacturing enterprise cluster led by "Future Factories" and centered on intelligent factories (digital workshops). Efforts have been made to carry out intelligent transformation and digitalization for small and medium-sized enterprises, fostering new quality productivity with proactive innovation, enhancing the core competitiveness of the hardware industry, and driving Yongkang's transition from a "major manufacturing city" to a "strong intelligent manufacturing city."
In terms of policy, Yongkang has issued several directives, including the "Policy Opinions on Deepening New Industrialization," providing comprehensive support for enterprises' intelligent transformation through financial subsidies, tax incentives, and talent attraction. By formulating special policies for the transformation of intelligent factories (digital workshops), Yongkang encourages leading enterprises in its eight major hardware industries to build smart factories (digital workshops) and implements pilot digital transformation projects for small and medium-sized enterprises, offering tailored service menus for businesses of different scales.
Focusing on the characteristics of each industry, Yongkang has piloted industry-specific digital manufacturing and platform-based services. By breaking down key production processes, pilot enterprises in each industry simultaneously undergo intelligent transformation and connect to industrial internet platforms, improving transformation efficiency, reducing enterprise risks, and accumulating phased transformation experience to provide a complete pathway for smart factory construction. To date, Yongkang has carried out pilot projects in 27 enterprises across six key industries, including auto parts and security doors. After transformation, production line capacity increased by over 30%, first-pass product quality yield improved by 13%, and labor costs were reduced by 40%. These transformation experiences have been promoted and implemented across entire industries, with nearly 100 projects implemented to date.
The power tool industry is one of Yongkang's pillar industries. In this sector, Yongkang has implemented primary-level smart factory construction featuring small investments, short construction periods, quick results, and easy scalability, with an "N+X" pilot transformation plan. Following the "sample replication and promotion method" — "finding common denominators, piloting a batch of models, and driving a group of enterprises" — digital transformation pilots have been carried out, establishing the main framework of the factory data system and achieving data-driven integrated collaborative operations in production, sales, warehousing, and other functions. Concurrently, intermediate-level smart factory pilot projects are underway in this sector, addressing deeper and broader transformation needs to further reduce costs, improve quality, enhance efficiency, and create new advantages in digital transformation.
Yongkang has built a tiered industrial internet service system, establishing platforms for six key industries, including electric (garden) tools and vacuum flasks. Nearly 90 industrial apps have been developed, connecting over 900 enterprises and linking more than 600 devices, with key enterprises achieving a device networking rate of over 60%.
Statistics show that Yongkang has implemented digital and intelligent transformation projects in 368 enterprises, disbursing over 500 million yuan in support funds. A number of landmark projects with advanced technological levels and significant application effects have been completed. To date, Yongkang has been awarded two provincial-level "Future Factories" and 17 provincial-level intelligent factories (digital workshops), ranking among the top counties (cities, districts) in the province.
Moving forward, Yongkang will continue to enhance enterprise production efficiency through intelligent transformation and digitalization, building a new intelligent manufacturing enterprise cluster led by "Future Factories," benchmarked by provincial-level intelligent factories (digital workshops), and focused on enterprises undergoing intelligent transformation. Additionally, Yongkang will intensify the development of network infrastructure, further increase digital network penetration, strengthen and consolidate industrial internet platform construction, guide foundational platforms to grow stronger and larger, and specialized platforms to become more focused and refined. Efforts will also be made to expand the software and information technology service industry, empowering traditional manufacturing to leap toward high-end, intelligent, and green development.
